What We Want You to Know About Drywall Repairs

A bad patch job is easy to spot—and hard to live with. Uneven texture, visible seams, or mismatched finishes can make even a small repair stand out for all the wrong reasons.

We’re often called in after trades like electricians, plumbers, or HVAC techs have completed their work and left cut-outs or access holes behind. We also receive a high number of calls related to water-damaged drywall. In those cases, we always recommend that the leak is fully repaired before we come in—so we can restore the area properly the first time without risk of repeated damage.

Texture matching is a big part of what we do, but it’s also one of the most misunderstood. When performing texture repairs or applying new texture adjacent to existing finishes, achieving an exact match can be challenging due to variables like age, wear, and the original application technique. While we strive for the closest possible match and seamless blending, we cannot guarantee a 100% identical result—and we believe in being transparent about that upfront.

We also want customers to be aware that repaired cracks or seams can sometimes reappear, especially if the framing underneath is unstable or compromised. Additionally, areas without proper climate control—like garages, seasonal rooms, or utility areas—are more prone to cracking and screw pops due to constant temperature swings. These are structural or environmental issues that affect drywall performance, and we’re happy to advise you on how to minimize future problems.
